THE National Health Insurance Management Authority (NHIMA) has dismissed social media claims that private healthcare facilities are withdrawing services due to non-payment by the Authority. The Authority says contrary to the narrative being peddled, it continues to receive hundreds of applications from private healthcare facilities seeking accreditation. Recently, Carepeak Specialist Clinic management announced that effective May 24, the clinic would no longer accept NHIMA as a mode of payment for services. The clinic explained that the termination of its contract with the Authority was due to the unsustainable settlement of claims for services provided to NHIMA-supported clients.
