POLICE in Mazabuka have detained a 23-year-old woman for allegedly assaulting her eight-year-old stepdaughter on several occasions with a cooking stick. It is alleged that the woman, whose identity has been withheld for the child’s protection, had been assaulting the victim on several occasions while her husband was out of town for work.
