FISHERIES and Livestock Minister Makozo Chikote says there is an outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Chaminuka area of Chongwe district. At a media briefing, Tuesday, Chikote said the outbreak had been recorded at one facility which had an initial pig population of 596 and that 13 pigs had died. “I would like to inform the nation that there is an outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Chaminuka area of Chongwe district. The disease was confirmed on Saturday 16th September, 2023 at the Central Veterinary Research Institute.
