FISHERIES and Livestock Minister Makozo Chikote says there is an outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Chaminuka area of Chongwe district. At a media briefing, Tuesday, Chikote said the outbreak had been recorded at one facility which had an initial pig population of 596 and that 13 pigs had died. “I would like to inform the nation that there is an outbreak of African Swine Fever (ASF) in Chaminuka area of Chongwe district. The disease was confirmed on Saturday 16th September, 2023 at the Central Veterinary Research Institute. The outbreak has been recorded at one facility which had an initial pig population of 596 and between 12th and 16th of September 2023, a total of 13 pigs have died....
