ECONOMIST Lubinda Haabazoka has urged government to scrap off personal income tax and focus on Value Added Tax (VAT), to reduce the burden on citizens who have been heavily taxed. In an interview, Habazooka wondered why government could tax 37 percent from an individual earning about K10,000. “What we have moved to is where people are heavily taxed and you know tax administration has become so tight that even the little milk that was left in the cow has been taken.
