THE Kwacha yesterday registered significant gains against major convertible currencies, with the buying rate closing at K25.5967 and the selling rate at K25.6467 against the US dollar, according to the Bank of Zambia (BOZ) market rates. In recent days, the Kwacha has been trading within the range of K26 to K27. According to BOZ rates yesterday, the local currency opened with a buying rate of K26.700 and a selling rate of K26.8200, but closed with a buying rate of K25.5967 and a selling rate of K25.6467. Meanwhile, according to Absa Bank Zambia, the Kwacha was buying at K26.3358 and selling at K26.8408. At Zanaco Bank, the local currency was buying at K25.9940 and selling at K26.5060 to the Dollar.
