THE Anti-Corruption Commission (ACC) has withdrawn a matter in which former Health Minister Dr Chitalu Chilufya, former Attorney General Likando Kalaluka SC and six others were facing a charge of conspiracy to defraud the government. Meanwhile, Dr Chilufya’s lawyer Sakwiba Sikota says the case has just caused unnecessary damage to his client. Dr Chilufya was jointly charged with former Ministry of Health permanent secretary Mulalelo Kakulubelwa, Kalaluka, Wilson Lungu, Emmanuel Mubanga and three Honeybee directors; Imran Lunat, Zakir Motala and Abdurauf Motala. The eight were jointly charged with one count of conspiracy to defraud, a charge they all denied.
