THE Lusaka Magistrates’ Court has sentenced a Chinese national to three years imprisonment with hard labour for theft by servant involving over K1 million. Ruan Chenglan, a manager at MAXI BEEF was facing one count of Theft by Servant. Particulars of the offence were that Chenglan between January 1, 2022, and February 3, 2023, in Lusaka, being a person employed by MAX BEEF company as a manager, did steal K1,008,457.00 cash, the property of the said employer. Magistrate Judith Chiyayika found Chenglan guilty upon his own admission.
