EGYPTIAN national Micheal Adel Michel Botros has told the Economic and Financial Crimes Court, High Court Division that he is surprised with the State’s fear to have DEC Assistant Commissioner Martin Chitamba cross-examined. Botros has told the court that if Chitamba is truly a witness of fact, he will comfortably take the stand. Botros has asked the court for leave to cross-examine Chitamba on grounds that the affidavit which he deposed contained hearsay. The State however objected to Botros’ application and told the court that Chitamba’s affidavit contained facts and not hearsay.
