THE Constitutional Court has granted leave to former president Edgar Lungu to file an application to recuse three Judges hearing his eligibility petition out of time. Lungu wants Constitutional Court president Professor Margret Munalula, her Vice President; Justice Arnold Shilimi and Justice Mapani Kawimbe to recuse themselves from hearing the matter as he perceives them to be biased as they are close associates of President Hakainde Hichilema. Meanwhile, hundreds of police officers were deployed around the Supreme Court and High Court from morning until the court session was concluded in the late afternoon.
