A 32-YEAR-OLD man of Mtendere Township in Lusaka has appeared in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court for allegedly confining a six-year-old boy in a toilet. Mphatso Mtonga, who is unemployed, is charged with one count of wrongful confinement, contrary to Section 260 of the Penal Code Chapter 87 of the Laws of Zambia. It is alleged that on August 12, 2024, Mtonga wilfully and unlawfully confined CN in a toilet. Mtonga, who appeared before Lusaka Resident Magistrate Mutinta Mwenya, denied the charge and the matter proceeded to trial.
