There was confusion here in Chingola yesterday. The road from Chiwempala was closed up to town centre and there were only five mobile police officers trying to manage this situation, there was total confusion. They failed to stop the procession of Jerabos here at Mwaiseni.
What caused this confusion was not clear, because there are conflicting statements. We hear a Jerabo was shot by the police in Nchanga North at the KCM plant where he reportedly went to steal used metal. Others are saying that the Jerabo who died was being buried today.
But the situation is bad, it’s like a riot and there are no police officers to manage this chaos.
There is a famous Jerabo called Sparks who has mobilised two tipper trucks full of Jerabos who are causing confusion. There is total chaos.
