AWOL Power Dynamos striker Fwayo Tembo has been attacked by the club for being ungrateful.
Fwayo disappeared from Arthur Davies Stadium in Kitwe on Friday with reports that he is being courted locally by Lusaka Dynamos while other have stated an unnamed European club is eyeing him.
The striker has enjoyed great form at Power since his career seemed in limbo prior to joining the Kitwe side in April 2016 as a free agent following his departure from Romanian club FC Astra where he had a strained relationship with clubs owner.
His year and a half long start at Power, where he has scored a total of 14 goals over the last two seasons, has not gone unnoticed and seen him back in the Chipolopolo frame.
“Fwayo has a running contract with the club running up to the end of 2018,” Power Dynamos club secretary Ricky Mamfunda said in Kitwe.
“Wherever he is going to go he will need us to clear him. So if he has burnt bridges where he has come from, I wonder who is going to clear him.”
“The thing that upsets us is how do you have a player being very ungrateful?
“We resuscitated Fwayo’s career and the best or least he can do is indicate to the club is there is a club x that is interested my services and that club x should engage Power Dynamos.
“Fwayo is growing, so what sort of role model is he going to be, because he has youngsters here at Arthur Davies Stadium who are looking up to him.
“But when they see and read that he has gone without even the blessings of Power Dynamos, it is regrettable.”
