Algeria are sweating on the fitness of first-choice goalkeeper Rais M’bolhi for their September 2 away clash against Zambia.
Zamba will hosts Algeria this weekend at National Heroes Stadium In Lusaka in a 2018 FIFA World Cup Group B qualifier.
According to Algerian media reports, M’bolhi sustained an injury on Saturday night while playing for French Ligue 1 club Stade Rennes in their away match against Toulouse.
The nature of M’bolhi injury is unknown but he will be assessed on Monday when he joins camp as Algeria prepare to travel to Lusaka for the first leg of their Group B doubleheader against Zambia.
Algeria host Zambia in the final leg on September 5 in Constantine.
Meanwhile,Rennes lost the match 3-2 and M’bolhi started and finished the match on his Ligue 1 debut for Rennes.
Zamba and Algeria are tied on 1 point from two games,one point behind 2nd placed Cameroon and a further five points adrift of leaders Nigeria.
Nigeria host Cameroon this Friday at Uyo.
And Chipolopolo entered camp in Lusaka on Monday and held their first training session in the morning at
Woodlands Stadium.
