CONFUSION has left athletes and officials headed for the second edition of the African Beach Games in limbo following a communication hiccup between government and the National Olympic Committee (NOC). NOC announced yesterday that it had withdrawn a significant portion of team Zambia’s participation at the Beach Games citing the inability to secure timely air tickets for the teams. However, Permanent Secretary in the Ministry of Sports Chileshe Kangwa says government has secured all 29 air tickets for the continent’s travel. Zambia was to be represented in four sports disciplines that include teqball, air badminton, beach handball, and beach volleyball.
