Acting Auditor General Ron Mwambwa has resigned.
According to a statement released by Head of Public Relations Ellen Chikale, Thursday afternoon, Mwamba resigned to pursue personal endeavours.
“Mr Ron Mwambwa has resigned from his position to pursue personal endeavours. He has thanked President Edgar Lungu and the entire government for the support rendered to him during his tenure as acting Auditor General. He has also wished the Office every success in its future work,” stated Chikale.
The Office and the Auditor General and the Financial Intelligence Center has come under fire from some PF government officials and ruling party officials who have accused the two institutions of releasing sensationalised reports of embezzlement and abuse of public resources.
