Mopani Copper Mines (MCM) has challenged Nkana players to win the CAF Champions League a few days after giving the team K200 000 to share for their outstanding performance last season.
Nkana were the Runners-up of the FAZ/MTN super league despite having started poorly, and they are also the Barclays Cup champions.
Attacking midfielder Harrison Chisala noted that the team had enough reasons to keep impressing its management at all football levels.
“When one is playing for Nkana, he is blessed. We are motivated in ways we do not even expect as players a d it gives us more reasons to work harder. For example, we started on a bad note last season but we picked up the pieces from the motivation we kept receiving from management. We need to pay back too,” said Chisala.
And club president Everisto Kabila expressed optimism that the team would outdo itself in Champions League. He further reminded the players that their bonuses were dependent on assignments done brilliantly.
“There is no need for us to push you around. You all know what you are playing for and that all we want are good results. Even the bonuses you receive are also in line with the kind of achievement. The bigger, the better,” summed Kabila.
