A 37-YEAR-OLD woman of Lusaka’s Chalala area has been arrested for pouring hot water on a 26-year-old woman with whom her husband has a child.

According to a statement from police spokesperson Esther Mwaata Katongo, Thursday, Febby Chali had gone to demand child support from her lover’s house only to be met by his wife, Esnart Mulishi.

Mulishi then got enraged and poured hot water on Chali’s face and body before assaulting her with a wooden chair.

“Police in Lusaka today received a report of Assault OABH in which the victim identified as Febby Chali aged 26 years of Chalala area was burnt with hot water on her body, face and further assaulted using a Wooden chair causing her to sustain a cut on the upper lip and on the head. The victim was being suspected of having an intimate relationship with a married man who is the suspect’s husband,” stated Katongo.

“The suspect is Esnart Mulishi aged 37 years old also of Chalala who is currently detained in police custody while the victim is receiving medical attention. It is alleged that the victim went looking for the father of her child (suspect’s husband) to request for child maintenance alleging that he had neglected the child but only found the wife home who later assaulted her and poured hot water on her.”
