POLICE in Lusaka have arrested three Kashikishi residents for swindling people out of K65,000 through random messages in which they were claiming to be a traditional healer called “Dr Makali” from Luapula who makes “magic money”. In a statement, Tuesday, police spokesperson Rae Hamoonga said the trio are alleged to have also been sending messages purporting recruiting for the Zambia Army and also helping out with social cash transfer schemes. “Police in Lusaka working with technical support from Zambia Information and Communication Technology Authority (ZICTA) has busted a crime in which three unscrupulous residents of Kashikishi have been swindling the general public of money amounting to K65,000=00.
