PARLIAMENT yesterday adopted a motion to improve councillors’ conditions of service which was moved by Kanchibiya PF member of parliament Sunday Chanda. And seconder of the motion, Imanga Wamunyima, who is Nalolo PNUP member of parliament, said having demotivated councillors was a recipe for poor service delivery. Moving the motion, Wednesday, Chanda bemoaned the poor conditions of service which councillors were subjected to. “Across the board, councillors and township council only get K3,000 as monthly fee and K350 as sitting allowance. For councillors who live 86 kilometres from civic centres or council chamber, they are only entitled to transport of K300 to get to the civic centre or council chamber and return home.
