FORMER Chief Government Spokesperson Chushi Kasanda says the latest poverty assessment report by the Zambia Statistics Agency captures trends in living conditions based on what was happening in the economy between 2015 and August 2021. Kasanda says the report only confirms that conditions of living, prior to the UPND commencing implementation of reforms, were poor because of the policies that were being pursued. The ZAMSTATS 2022 poverty assessments report showed an increase in poverty levels of 60 percent compared to 54.4 percent in 2015.
