AFTER verifying the veracity of President Emerson Mnangagwa’s video, we are concerned with its contents, which we consider an unwarranted attack on Zambia’s sovereignty, says government. Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation Minister Mulambo Haimbe says government has therefore sought urgent intervention from the regional body to address the issue through an appropriate mediation process, which should result in measurable outcomes. A video recently emerged showing Zimbabwean President Emerson Mnangagwa telling his Russian counterpart Vladimir Putin that the Americans were consolidating their power in Zambia, and as such, his country felt lonely.
