NEW Heritage Party president Chishala Kateka says government allowed the opposition rally in Kitwe because President Hakainde Hichilema was receiving a doctorate in the UK and needed to show that he is a democrat. On Monday, Home Affairs and Internal Security Minister Jack Mwiimbu said it was the first time since 2014 that opposition political parties had been allowed to hold rallies outside the official campaign period. Mwiimbu, however, asked the international community to take note of how the opposition insulted President Hichilema during their rally in Kitwe.
