HEALTH Minister Elijah Muchima says it’s disheartening that only four out of 14 elevators are working at the University Teaching Hospital. Speaking when Muchima visited UTH, Thursday, Ministry of Health Permanent Secretary Christopher Simoonga observed that when elevators malfunction, managing critically ill patients becomes tough. “It is important that this meeting takes place because first and foremost, the general concern to the public with regards to the functioning of the elevators, generally 14 elevators here spread across the University Teaching Hospital are essential to this hospital because without the elevators, some of the services such as movement of patients, critically ill patients become difficult basically the flow of the services becomes constrained.
