ATTORNEY General Mulilo Kabesha says the compensation awarded to certain victims of various injustices is fair because some of them were sexually abused by state agents while others lost some body parts. And Kabesha says sometimes, police and other government institutions leave him with no option but to sign consent judgments because they fail to produce evidence to exonerate the state. The Attorney General’s Office has been receiving sharp criticism from various stakeholders regarding the consent judgements it has signed since UPND got into office, awarding some ruling party aligned individuals substantial amounts of money.
