THE Road Transport and Safety Agency (RTSA) has welcomed the move by the Bus and Taxi Owners Association of Zambia (BTOAZ) to call off their countrywide protest and resume operations. On Thursday, bus operators at Intercity bus terminus in Lusaka staged a protest by halting the operations of long-distance buses, leaving several travellers stranded. Some long-distance drivers said the protest was sparked by the suspension of Juldan Motors’ license, which they described as unfair. Following the protest, a meeting was held by the Ministry of Transport and Logistics, BTOAZ and RTSA in Lusaka.
