GOVERNMENT has acknowledged that Zampost workers are currently facing a backlog of three months’ salary arrears amounting to K14.4 million for May, June and October. Minister of Technology and Science Felix Mutati says Zampost’s failure to meet its salary obligations is due to cash flow constraints worsened by external factors, including reduced operations as a result of the energy crisis. Mutati said this in the National Assembly, Tuesday, in response to a question from Nakonde PF MP Luka Simumba, who asked whether government was aware that Zampost workers were failing to meet their daily needs due to non-payment of their salaries for the past six months.
