HUMAN Rights Commission (HRC) Spokesperson Mweelwa Muleya says the commission is elated that the state will compensate the family of a 17-year-old boy who was shot and killed by a police officer in 2020. On Wednesday, the Lusaka High Court ordered the state to compensate the family of the late Timothy Zulu. The High Court also awarded the sum of K150,000 in costs to the plaintiff, John Zulu, the father of the deceased. Zulu had sued the state demanding compensation in the sum of K2 million for causing the untimely death and loss of life of his son.
