LOCAL Government Service Commission Chairperson Ackson Sejani has warned that, going forward, the commission will not entertain substandard performance, incompetence, or failure to perform in councils. Sejani has revealed that the Commission has introduced performance contracts for Principal Officers and rolled out an annual staff appraisal system aimed at making council officials more accountable to the public. He says these measures are already yielding results, adding that so far eight Principal Officers have since been demoted.
