The Constitutional Court has dismissed UPND losing candidate Sydney Chisanga’s appeal for Mkushi South parliamentary seat on account that it lacks merit.

In the election petition filed in the Lusaka High Court against PF’s winning candidate for Mkushi South, Davies Chisopa, Chisanga had asked the court to declare the election invalid, null and void.

And delivering the judgement in the Constitutional Court, judge Mungeni Mulenga ruled that the applicant’s grounds for the appeal had failed as they lacked merit.

She then dismissed the matter.

“All the grounds of appeal having failed, it follows that this appeal lacks merits in its entirety and is accordingly dismissed,” said justice Mulenga.
