THERE is trouble at the National Health Insurance Management Authority (NHIMA)! On Tuesday, the authority announced changes to its benefit package, among them the exclusion of dental services and spectacles. Two days later, Minister of Health Sylvia Masebo revealed that the public medical scheme had depleted its bank accounts. This was followed by another announcement from NHIMA, suspending the accreditation of new private healthcare providers.
