THE Department of Immigration has apprehended 21 foreign nationals involved in illegal gold-mining in Mufumbwe District. The Immigration Department has also deported 22 immigrants from Isoka District. In a statement, Wednesday, Immigration Chief Public Relations Officer, Namati Nshinka said those apprehended included 17 Tanzanians, two Chinese nationals and two Indians. “The Department of Immigration has continued its nationwide enforcement efforts against illegal immigration and unlawful activities by foreign nationals. In the latest development, the Solwezi Regional Immigration Office, in conjunction with the Kasempa Immigration Office, on 16th June, 2025, apprehended 21 individuals involved in illegal gold mining activities in Mufumbwe District.
