WATER Development and Sanitation Minister Collins Nzovu says government is conducting a K4.35 million feasibility study for dam construction in Chongwe District to secure Lusaka’s future water needs. Speaking when he delivered a ministerial statement on strategic water supply interventions in Lusaka Province, Wednesday, Nzovu said due to the adverse impact of the recent drought, the production of water had declined to 265,000 cubic meters per day, in the first quarter of 2025. “Lusaka’s current water production capacity stands at approximately 350,000 cubic metres per day, against a daily demand of 480,000 cubic metres per day.
