THE Electoral Commission of Zambia (ECZ) has set January 15, 2026 as the date for the Chawama constituency parliamentary by-election. The Commission stresses that adoption certificates for party-sponsored candidates must bear the full names and signatures of both the Secretary General and the president, or just the Secretary General of the party. Recently, Speaker of the National Assembly Nelly Mutti declared the Chawama seat vacant following the continued absence of the member of parliament, Tasila Lungu.
