THE National Assembly yesterday voted in support of the motion to review the law governing land acquisition by foreign nationals in Zambia. The motion was moved by Kamfinsa PF member of parliament Christopher Kang’ombe and was supported by Chama North PF MP Yotam Mtayacahalo. The motion urged government to review and strengthen the legal and administrative frameworks governing the acquisition of land by foreign nationals in Zambia. Meanwhile, Lands Minister Sylvia Masebo said the objective of land reforms was not to discourage genuine investors, but to ensure that land was allocated in an orderly and transparent manner. Masebo added that once stakeholder consultations were concluded, the proposed amendments to the Lands Act would be brought before the House for consideration....
