THE National Sports Council of Zambia (NSCZ) has directed all national federations, clubs, coaches, and administrators to make appropriate arrangements allowing eligible athletes and sports personnel sufficient time to exercise their constitutional right to vote in the 2026 General Election today. In a statement, the NSCZ emphasised that athletes are not only participants in sport but also citizens with an important role in the democratic process. “The Constitution of Zambia provides for citizens to freely exercise their political rights and encourages eligible citizens to register and vote in national and local government elections,” the statement read.
