A 43-year-old soldier of Lusaka’s Army Headquarters has been dragged to court for murder.

It is alleged that Likando Akelekwa of C16 Army Headquarters, on November 11, this year, murdered Margaret Chilufya.

Akelekwa will appear in court on Wednesday for explanation of the charge awaiting committal to the High Court.

And a 33-year-old businessman has been dragged to court for allegedly assaulting Oracle Media proprietor Mutinta M’membe, thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.

In this matter, Lingsen Mwamwembe, 33, is alleged to have assaulted Mutinta, in February this year.

Particulars of the offence allege that the accused, on February 17, Lusaka, did assault Mutinta Bumba Mazoka M’membe, thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.

When the matter came up for allocation, Mwamwembe was not before Court.

The matter has, however, been allocated to Magistrate Mulenga.

Meanwhile, a 27-year-old man of Chainda Compound has appeared in the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court for assaulting his mother.

It is alleged that Ignatius Musonda, unemployed, assaulted Foster Musonda on November 28, this year, thereby occasioning her actual bodily harm.
