Chipolopolo players Patson Daka and Enock Mwepu on Wednesday put up a stellar performance of their careers thus far when their Austrian club Red Bull Salzburg played to a 4-3 loss against champions Liverpool at Anfield.
The game was a debut for Mwepu who played the entire match while his compatriot, Daka, played for 56 minutes.
Daka made his debut in the competition a fortnight ago and was selected ahead of match day one hat-trick hero Erling Braut Haaland, who was recovering from an illness.
The champions started the match stronger and opened the scores in the 9th minute through former Red Bull Salzburg forward Sadio Mane.
About 40 minutes later, Liverpool were three nil up but Salzburg pulled one back just before the interval.
The Austrian club fought from three goals down to level matters at the hour mark before Egyptian captain Mohamed Salah netted the fourth to decide the matter.
