PF National Mobilisation Committee Member Bizwell Mutale has recommended that PF Secretary General Davies Mwila and party National Chairman Samuel Mukupa should step down with immediate effect.

Meanwhile, Mutale said the mobilization team findings indicate that President Lungu remains the most loved leader due to his service delivery sacrifices to the poor people of Zambia.

According to a letter dated August 17 and addressed to Mwila, Mutale said President Lungu was betrayed by his most trusted advisors during the preparations of the Presidential general elections and on the election day.

“Secretary General Sir, allow me to bring a very serious and urgent matter to your immediate attention. This matter has brought serious consequences to the Patriotic Front Party President and the Patriotic Front Members, this can’t be ignored at any level. Innocent blood was spilled from many Patriotic Front Members. (Husband, Son, daughter, a wife, a family breadwinner, and a voter). The President of the Patriotic Front Party H.E. President Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu, was betrayed and humiliated by his most trusted advisors (the people he trusted most close to him) during the preparations of the Presidential general elections and on the day of the election the 12th of August 2021. The Patriotic Front Party members from Branch level, Ward Level, District level, Provincial level, and the national level, were betrayed and humiliated.” Mutale said.

Mutale informed Mwila that people were not happy with the Members of the Central Committee because they did not adopt their preferred candidates to contest in the general elections.

“All the above events were happening under your administration, and you neglected to take any kind of action, to rectify them and save the President, Party members and the party from all the humiliation. Secretary General Sir, I also want to bring another urgent serious matter to your attention, I am on the ground with the people that vote, they have a serious complaint that they are not happy with the Members of the Central Committee, that did not take their choices of their preferred Members of Parliament and Councilors Candidates to represent them in their wards and Constituencies. Instead they were given candidates selected by the MCC without consulting the Constituencies and wards on the candidates of their choice,” he said.

“All the candidates that were selected by the MCC lost the election and it cost the Patriotic Front Party very dearly and members have now started resigning from the Patriotic Front Party, citing poor leadership on your Part as the Secretary General. The Presidential General Election that was held on the 12th August 2021, the outcome results presented before by the ECZ did not reflect the true Patriotic Front Party President and the party itself. Due to the above, Patriotic Front Party we are losing members due to serious issues raised here. As a Senior Patriotic Front Party Member, I would like to raise a number of issues that will help to rebuild the Image of the Patriotic Front Party and gain the trust and confidence of our grieving party members who remained in the party and those that left citing the above reasons.”

Mutale further recommended that Members of the Central Committee must step down with immediate effect and President Lungu must appoint an interim executive committee to run the party affairs.

“I hereby recommend that the following action be taken with immediate effect without relaxation; that Hon Davies Mwila, the Secretary General of the Patriotic Front do step down as the Secretary General of the PF with immediate effect. Hon Samuel Mukupa the Chairman of the Patriotic Front Party must step down with immediate effect. The entire Members of the Central Committee (MCC), the most trusted organ of the party decision making body, do step down with immediate effect without relaxation. The interim executive committee be appointed by the President of the Patriotic Front Party, to run the party business affairs to assist the party and its members to gain trust and confidence in the Patriotic Front once again,” he said.

“I am writing this letter as a concerned official Patriotic Front Senior Member, who is concerned with the current multiple turn of events in the Patriotic Front Party and its affairs. The above stated reasons will help the Patriotic Front party to rebuild itself and be a party for all, inclusive women, and youth, this will increase the numbers of our members who have left and those who have lost confidence in the party by bringing in the interim committee with fresh ideas to reenergize the party. Secretary General Sir. I wish to reaffirm the above-matter and the unconditional request before this letter to you sir, as an immediate solution to help the Patriotic Front Party turn around to rebuild its image. It’s for the best interest of the party and the members.”

Meanwhile, Mutale said the mobilization team findings indicated that President Lungu remained the most loved leader due to his service delivery sacrifices to the poor people of Zambia.

“The Patriotic Front party members around the country love the Patriotic Front Party and the Party President H.E. President Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu. As a national mobilization committee member, I have toured the country in all provinces and I had an opportunity to interact with many members of the Party, Royal Traditional Leaders, Village Headmen, youth, Religious Clergymen, and the civil servants. The findings are that the Patriotic Front Party is the party that has answered serious challenges of every Zambian community needs such as, Schools, Hospitals, Markets, Roads, Agricultural services, youth empowerments, mining sector, women empowerments, Social Grant pay-outs Pensioner’s pay-outs, civil servants’ debt relief just to name the few. With the above findings, in our mobilization campaigns, H.E. President Dr Edgar Chagwa Lungu, remains the most loved leader due to his service delivery sacrifices to the poor people of Zambia,” said Mutale.
