GOVERNMENT says there was sympathy for Zambia among key IMF members when it lobbied for disbursement of the anticipated US$188 million from the fund in the absence of an MOU from official creditors. Finance and National Planning Minister Dr Situmbeko Musokotwane, however, says many other people from the fund were of the view that the preferable solution to access the fund is to get debt resolution. And Dr Musokotwane says Zambia has made progress on its debt restructuring as every official creditor is in the mood to complete the exercise.
