THE Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection (JCTR) has encouraged citizens to eat roller meal and to also diversify their diets by consuming other carbohydrates like sweet potatoes and rice. Commenting on the mealie meal price escalation, Tuesday, JCTR Programmes Manager Muchimba Siamachoka said the centre was promoting roller meal as it was more affordable and nutritious. “I would say that the basket or nutrition itself really looks at diversifying your diet. So, in our basket, we do have items that remain substitutes for mealie meal for example other carbohydrates such as sweet potatoes, that can be used as an alternative and also rice that we also collect on a monthly basis.
