THE cost of living for a family of five in Lusaka for January has increased to K9,555.53 from the K9,157.41 recorded in December 2023, JCTR has disclosed. Furthermore, JCTR’s 2023 Satellite Home Survey (SHS) findings have established that majority of the respondents earn between K1,001 to K3,000, which is way below the current cost of living. Meanwhile, Jesuit Centre for Theological Reflection executive director Fr Alex Muyebe has bemoaned the escalating burden of living expenses.
