ZAMBIA Revenue Authority (ZRA) board chairperson Caleb Fundanga says he agrees with former ZRA commissioner general Kingsley Chanda that the authority’s capacity to audit mining companies remains low. Dr Fundanga says mining firms have been too smart when it comes to resolving tax anomalies, disclosing that ZRA has since created a large taxpayer department which will concentrate on these companies. Meanwhile, Dr Fundanga says mining tax exemptions deprive the country of the much-needed revenues.
