MINISTRY of Mines and Minerals Development Permanent Secretary, Hapenga Kabeta, has noted that his ministry neglects the regulatory aspect to mining firms, hence low tax compliance as revealed by the Zambia Revenue Authority. Last week, ZRA Commissioner General, Dingani Banda, revealed that only six mines out of over 6000 entities with mining licences in the country had contributed to revenue collection. He said the six mines in question accounted for 80 percent of the gross revenue collected from the sector.
