GEMFIELDS Group Limited has lamented the lack of notice or prior consultation regarding the re-introduction of a 15 per cent export duty on emeralds. In a statement, Wednesday, the company stated that it would engage government to suspend this export duty or remove it from the legislation. “Gemfields has become aware that a new statutory instrument in Zambia dated 30 December 2024 and which came into effect on 1 January 2025 (S.I.
