A 43-YEAR-OLD Zambia Air Force (ZAF) officer has been dragged to court for allegedly assaulting another person.
In this matter, Martin Kaloba Phiri is facing one count of assault occasioning actual bodily harm.
Phiri is alleged to have on February 27, 2021, in Lusaka assaulted Masauso Nyangulu, thereby occasioning him actual bodily harm.
On Friday, when the case came up, Chief Resident Magistrate Lameck Mwale allocated it to Magistrate Nthandose Chabala where the accused is expected to take plea.
In another matter, a 32-year-old technician of Lusaka’s Matero Township has equally been dragged to the Lusaka Magistrates’ Court for allegedly vandalizing Zamtel cables.
Zikhalo Nkosi is charged with one count of malicious damage to property.
It is alleged on January 10, 2021 in Lusaka, the accused jointly and whilst acting together with other persons unknown vandalised property, namely 300X20 meters, 200 X85 meters and 80X19 meters of cables all together valued at K120,164.74, the property of Zambia Telecommunications Company Limited (Zamtel), property essential for or incidental to the provision of a necessary service of telecommunication.
Magistrate Mwale allocated the matter to Magistrate Felix Kaoma.
