SIX juveniles of Lusaka’s Kanyama compound have been dragged to court for aggravated robbery involving about K6,000.
The juveniles, two males and four females, aged between 15 and 17, stand charged with one count of aggravated robbery contrary to Section 294(1) of the Penal Code chapter 87 of the laws of Zambia.
Particulars of the offence allege that the accused, on August 20 this year in Lusaka, jointly and whilst acting together with other persons unknown stole cash amounting to K2,000 and two cell phones altogether valued at K4,300 from Steven Kasonde.
It is alleged that at or immediately before or immediately after the time of such stealing, the accused used or threatened to use actual violence to the said Kasonde in order to retain the said property or prevent or overcome resistance to it being stolen or retained.
However, when the matter came up for explanation of the charge before Magistrate Annie Holland, the accused persons’ guardians were not present before court.
The accused will remain in custody until November 15 when the matter comes up again.
