TWO police officers, a farmer and nine businessmen have pleaded not guilty to five counts of aggravated robbery involving K1.5 million. In this matter, the accused are Francis Kayando and Newton Hamukamba, both police officers of Matero Police station in Lusaka and Frank Mukuwa, a farmer. Others are; James Mutenga, Martin Mulako, Derrick Chansa, Soft Bubala, Mike Zulu, Enock Moono, Gerald Sinkamba, Samuel Tembo and Differt Sichone, all business executives. When the matter came up for plea yesterday before High Court judge Ireen Mbewe, the accused pleaded not guilty after the charges were read out for them.
