A LAWYER representing the alleged abductors of Pamela and 12 others, says the defence intends to challenge the Lusaka High Court’s ruling which declared one of the accused, James Bwalya, fit to stand trial. Osborne Ngoma says the defence will file a petition in the Constitutional Court seeking an interpretation of whether or not his client is fit to stand trial. This follows justice Charles Kafunda’s ruling that Bwalya is mentally fit to stand trial. In this matter, Bwalya, 22 is jointly charged with Mathews Sikaonga, also 22, with 54 counts of aggravated robbery, abduction, assault, and rape, among other charges.
