THE state has agreed that former Director of Public Prosecutions Mutembo Nchito, State Counsel, was unjustly removed from a constitutionally protected office. The state and Nchito have, therefore, entered into a consent judgment to have him compensated for his unconstitutional and unjust removal from office as DPP The Attorney General has also agreed that Nchito’s Constitutional right to the protection of the law was infringed upon when he was subjected to a conflicted and biased tribunal which recommended his removal from Office as DPP. This is according to a consent judgment entered between Nchito and the State, through the Attorney General’s chambers.
