PATRIOTS for Economic Progress (PeP) leader Sean Tembo has sued the state in the Lusaka High Court over the purchase of ZAMBEEF’s Chiawa farm at US$13.5 million. Tembo, who has cited the Attorney General, wants an order of certiorari to declare that the decision to purchase the private land at US$13.5 million is unlawful, irrational, and made without following proper procedures, and therefore null and void ab initio. He also wants an order of mandamus, compelling the Attorney General and his clients to re-evaluate the land acquisition process by conducting an independent valuation and ensuring adherence to public procurement laws and Constitutional principles.
